How to Make Shrimp Sauce - A Great Recipe

I am not a big fan of adding sauces to shrimp – despite the for the obvious exception of a shrimp cocktail. But a good shrimp sauce is always a good idea! There are many variations of shrimp sauces and as passion does not know any bounds we could add daily another lip smacking recipe just for shrimp sauce. Instead, we will start with a very basic recipe and encourage you to do your creativity do the rest.

However, whenever you are thinking of making something with shrimp, you are at the right place here. The following basic shrimp sauce recipe is not only easy to make but so delicious in taste that your family will surely say “You are the best chef in the world”. Just add some love to the recipe and the applause is yours.The basic ingredients you need for your sauce are:

Ingredients

1 ½ pounds of large shrimp
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 medium size onion, chopped
1 tablespoon sugar
1 tablespoon dried leaf basil
28 ounces of tomato puree
6 ounces of tomato paste
1 teaspoon crushed red pepper
¼ cup dry sherry
Salt to taste

Directions

Now, after we have our ingredients it is time to prepare them:
1. Take a pan and heat olive oil in it. Add the chopped onion and fry until it turns golden to brown.
2. Add sugar, basil, tomato puree, water, and the tomato paste. Cook until it comes to a boil.
3. Now lower the heat and let it cook for about 30 minutes and add the shrimp, sherry and the crushed red pepper. Let it boil and stir occasionally. Cook for about two to three minutes or a little bit longer, until the shrimps are cooked.
4. Your sauce is ready to be served on your table.

Tips

You can add wine instead of sherry but it all depend if you need a little sour taste.
